We Are the News Now

A couple of months back, I introduced you to Gordo {Bot}'s digital soldier anthem. Our Scottish friend strikes back today with a new punchy, strongly-worded musical opus about the danger of systematic censorship which does not just affect those who challenge the increasingly blatant lies, but also and mostly those who buy into a narrative so inconsistent it's collapsing on all sides. To such an extent that it now takes a great deal of unwillingness (and fear probably) to remain in a state of denial and subjugation.

Please, remember the famous poem by pastor Martin Niemöller about the cowardice of German intellectuals following the Nazis' rise to power and subsequent incremental purging of their chosen targets, group after group:

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out —
Because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out —
Because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out —
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me —
And there was no one left to speak for me.

“In 2021, censorship has become more apparent than ever. It seems anyone who wants to speak the truth (or at least challenge a narrative that we are force fed) is shut down” says Gordon. Being deleted from several social media platforms simply for posting his "Digital Soldiers" song made him wonder whether the voice of those who are 'awake' didn't make Big Tech nervous. At any rate, it inspired him to record and film the song below right away.

We Are The News Now

When you tear out a man's tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you're only telling the world that you fear what he might say...

We are the news, we are the news now
When the people rise up, when the people can't lose no
We are the news, we are the news now
When the people rise up, when the people can't lose no

If the TV said it's raining I'd still look outside my window
I dunno who to trust
It's a common theme I know
And I can't decide if all the voices will be loud enough to hold, to hold

There's something really fishy going on in here
There's something really fishy going on in here
If we don't think twice
We'll pay the price
There's something really fishy going on in here

Your censorship won't keep us down
The more you hide
The more we get loud

We are the news, we are the news now
(Get loud!)
When the people rise up, when the people can't lose no
(Get loud!)
We are the news, we are the news now
(Get loud!)
When the people rise up, when the people can't lose no

Could it be, our history was a lie from the get-go?
Should it mean, we trust the plan, just because they said so?
These are dangerous times
With dangerous minds
Oh help me now, please help us now

There's something really fishy going on in here
There's something really fishy going on in here
If we don't think twice
We'll pay the price
There's something really fishy going on in here

Your censorship won't keep us down
The more you hide
The more we get loud

We are the news, we are the news now
(Get loud!)
When the people rise up, when the people can't lose no
(Get loud!)
We are the news, we are the news now
(Get loud!)
When the people rise up, when the people can't lose no

We are the news, we are the news now
(Get loud!)
When the people rise up, when the people can't lose no
(Get loud!)
We are the news, we are the news now
(Get loud!)
When the people rise up, when the people can't lose no
