The Year of the Horse

Xīn nián hǎo! As from today until 18th February 2015 the Chinese Year of The Horse1 has just begun. Please note, however, that my tag does not reflect the governing element of the year which is wood2 — nor the associated green colour. To go fully green, see you all again on Saint Patrick's Day next month!

Endnotes

  1. According to legend, on New Year's Day, Buddha set out to reorganise the Empire and summoned all the animals in China. Only twelve turned up: the rat, the ox, the tiger, the rabbit, the dragon, the snake, the horse, the sheep, the monkey, the rooster, the dog, and the pig. In gratitude, each was given a personal year to govern. Please note in some Asian countries, the rabbit is replaced with the cat, the sheep with the goat and the pig with the boar.
  2. There are five elements: wood (Jupiter - Eastern Green Dragon on years ending with 4 or 5), fire (Mars - Southern Red Phoenix - years ending with 5/7), earth (Saturn - Central Yellow Snake (colour of the sovereign) - years 8/9), metal (Venus - Western White Tiger - years 0/1), and water (Mercury - Northern Black Tortoise - years 2/3). The order is important since each element produces the next. Thus, within a ten-year cycle, each element will govern two years. So 2015 will be the year of the Wood Sheep; 2016 the year of the Fire Monkey; 2017, the year of the Fire Rooster, etc.

The Black Star

You don't know me, yet you never miss an opportunity to pin everything and nothing on me. Any situation difficult to fathom makes me a blatantly obvious culprit. I'm being blamed, feared, and hated. But I didn't do anything. How could I since, in fact, I don't exist? At least nowhere but in your misguided beliefs. I hope you guess my name...

My name is Fate. I'm often confused with Hope, although ultimately neither of us is real. We both are projections of your amnesic minds — collateral incidences used to offload your responsibilities as souls stuck in denial of your own forgotten omnipotence.

Black holes and revelations

Our hopes and expectations
Black holes and revelations

"Starlight", Muse (2006)

Every time you call upon my unfortunate companion, you praise him to the skies as if he were some kind of messiah, a guide who could lead your to the nirvana of your short-lived fantasies — never to that of your genuine essential needs though.

Actually, have you ever thought about it? Of course not! How could you when you're always so busy continually moving heaven and earth without pausing — never worrying about what may come next.

Blame it on the Black Star

Blame it on the Black Star
Blame it on the falling sky,
Blame it on the satellite
That beams me home.

"Black Star", Radiohead (1995)

You wish, you want, you pray, you hope... That's all rubbish! Whenever Hope doesn't meet your expectations, whenever you feel betrayed by him, you blame me!

I, your black star, you dark moon, your priestess of doom.

Well, sorry, but I'm outraged, annoyed, pained. I had to tell you: Hope and I no longer wish to continue to endorse your past, present and future. It is now time for you to leave us aside and regain your freewill you had deliberately tied up to the illusory crenellations of your fancy.

Eclipse

All that is now
All that is gone
All that's to come
And everything under the sun is in tune
But the sun is eclipsed by the moon.

"Eclipse", Pink Floyd (1973)

Slaves, we don't want you anymore. There is no point to such duality. By mutual agreement, we release you and condemn you to be.

From now on, there won't be any maze for you to get entangled in or any disingenuous projection to divert you from the now moment and your power of manifestation. Thus you may create and never again will you desire. Thus you may understand and never again will you blame anyone else. Thus you may know and never again will you have your backs to the wall.

Parachute

Take your parachute and jump, you can't stay here forever
When everyone else is gone, being all alone won't seem that clever
Take your parachute and go, there's gonna have to be some danger
Take your parachute and jump, you're gonna have to take flight

If the wind don't catch you, I will, I will
If the wind's not there, I'm here

Don't look out before you, you know it's a long way down
I'll make it safer for you, your parachute won't let you down
Take your parachute and go, and maybe come back tomorrow
Take your parachute, I am, stop you ever getting sorrow

Cause the winds might change, and the winds might blow over you
And the winds might cut you in two, unless perhaps you get a raincoat

Take your parachute and go, and wave to me as you are falling
Take your parachute and jump, you'll hear a sound, it's just me calling
It's a beautiful day for jumping, and nothing's here to keep you back
I'll make it safer for you, your parachute is on your back

Cause the winds might change, and the winds might change

Take a parachute, I am

And jump (the wind should come and catch you)
And jump (before you hit the ground)
And jump (the wind should come and catch you)
And jump (before you hit the ground)
Jump
Take your parachute

Insurrection

Paranoia is in bloom,
The PR transmissions will resume,
They’ll try to push drugs that keep us all dumbed down,
And hope that we will never see the truth around

Another promise, another scene,
Another packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed,
And all the green belts wrapped around our minds,
And endless red tape to keep the truth confined

They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
We will be victorious

Interchanging mind control,
Come let the revolution take it’s toll,
If you could flick a switch and open your third eye,
You’d see that
We should never be afraid to die

Rise up and take the power back,
It’s time the fat cats had a heart attack,
You know that their time’s coming to an end,
We have to unify and watch our flag ascend

They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
We will be victorious

They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
We will be victorious

Matt Bellamy, 2009

About This Song

Muse is a band that is somewhat popular among truthers due its messages alluding to conspiracies and resistance to corrupt powers. The band’s 2009 album The Resistance was perceived by many as a true anti-Illuminati manifesto with rebellious anthems such as Uprising. The lyrics of this song refer to dumbed-down masses being controlled by higher powers, a theme that is often discussed by truthers.

The Wings of Winter

Night scenes and icy/snowy landscapes are challenges to express visually. Of course, they happen to be my favourites. While clearly inspired by Tchaïkovski's famous Swan Lake and by tales and legends in which both humans and animals are often intermingled in form, this graphic expresses something very profound and personal.

The Bends

Where do we go from here
The words are coming out all weird
Where are you now, when I need you
Alone on an aeroplane
Fall asleep on against the window pane
My blood will thicken

I need to wash myself again to hide all the dirt and pain
Cos I’d be scared that there’s nothing underneath
But who are my real friends
Have they all got the bends
Am I really sinking this low

My baby’s got the bends, oh no
We don’t have any real friends, no, no, no

Just lying in the bar with my drip feed on
Talking to my girlfriend, waiting for something to happen
I wish it was the sixties, I wish I could be happy
I wish, I wish, I wish that something would happen

Where do we go from here
The planet is a gunboat in a sea of fear
And where are you
They brought in the CIA, the tanks and the whole marines,
To blow me away, to blow me sky high

My baby’s got the bends
We don’t have any real friends

Just lying in the bar with my drip feed on
Talking to my girlfriend, waiting for something to happen
I wish it was the sixties, I wish I could be happy
I wish, I wish, I wish that something would happen

I wanna live, breathe
I wanna be part of the human race
I wanna live, breathe
I wanna be part of the human race, race, race, race

Where do we go from here
The words are coming out all weird
Where are you now when I need you

Mornings After

Soft drinks are more fun! Citrus juice can be such a boost.
Looks like you got an overdose. Well, when you're tired of jumping
all over the place, you can have a rest eventually.
Feel crummy? Whooped it up a bit too much? Serves you well!
Time to go green. Bamboo does make your bones stronger.
Itchy scratchy? Somewhat, a lot... Should have known better than
getting back home pissed as a newt and wallowing in the doghouse
on New Year's Eve. Off you go:flea collar and baking soda!
You have your head in the clouds? You wouldn't have smoked any weed,
would you? Nope? Well done then, you're tops!
